A total of 78 vacancies are notified across two posts. The category-wise vacancy distribution for both posts is given below. Within these categories, horizontal reservation is also provided for women, rural candidates, persons with benchmark disabilities, ex-servicemen, Kannada medium candidates, project-displaced persons and the third gender category, as specified in the official notification.

Candidates must have completed 18 years of age as on the last date fixed for submission of the online application. The maximum age limit is as follows: Age relaxation is available as per Rule 6(2) of the KCS (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977, for candidates who have worked in government/local authority/statutory corporation service (relaxation equal to the period served or 10 years, whichever is less), ex-servicemen (period of service in the armed forces plus 3 years), persons with physical disability (10 years), and widows (10 years). An additional one-time general relaxation of 5 years to the maximum age limit has also been allowed as per Government Order No. SiAaSuI 262 SeNeNi 2025 dated 29.01.2026.

The application fee must be paid online through the SBI Collect page using net banking, debit card or credit card. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances, and applications without the fee receipt uploaded will be rejected. Payments made in any name other than "Principal District and Sessions Judge, Uttara Kannada, Karwar" will not be considered, and no offline mode of payment (DD, postal order, money order, cheque, or cash) is accepted.

Selection to both posts will be made as per the Karnataka Civil Courts (Clerical and Other Posts) (Recruitment) Rules, 1982, and its amendment rules of 2007 and 2021. Process Server: Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying educational examination, in a ratio of 1:25 per post as per the reservation of notified posts. The interview carries a total of 10 marks, and final selection is based on marks obtained in the interview. Peon: Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on the percentage of marks obtained in the SSLC examination, in a ratio of 1:10 per post.
