The institute has notified a total of 8 vacancies for Senior Resident in the Department of Cardiology under an 89-days residency program. The category-wise distribution of vacancies is detailed below:

The upper age limit is 45 Years as on 07th Feb 2026. Relaxation is applicable as per State Govt. Rule, i.e., 05 Years for SC/ST, 03 Years for EBC/BC and 03 years for all categories of Female Candidate.

The cost of the application form is payable to The Director, IGIMS, Patna, in the form of a Demand Draft.

Prescribed application form downloaded from the official website. Demand Draft for the requisite application fee. Copies of all supportive certificates and documents including proof of age, qualification, reservation, and caste. Original certificates and documents for verification before the interview. No Objection Certificate issued by the employer (if employed in Government/Semi Government Department). Caste Certificate issued by Circle Officer of respective District/Circle along with Certificate of exemption from Creamy Layer (for EBC-(MBC)/BC candidates).

The selection process for the IGIMS Senior Resident recruitment involves document verification followed by an interview. Candidates must fulfill the minimum qualifying criteria for appointment to the post of Senior Residents, which are: UR - 50th Percentile BC/EBC/EWS - 45th Percentile SC/ST - 40th Percentile The scheme of marking for such ad-hoc appointments is based on academic qualifications (MBBS, MS/MD/DNB, additional qualifications, publications, poster/presentation, academic award, specialized training, project/extramural) and subject knowledge, totaling 100 marks.

Stay in campus is compulsory if accommodation is provided; if not provided, HRA's admissible as per rule. The post is non-practicing, and private practice of any kind, direct or indirect, is strictly prohibited. Candidates employed in Government or Semi Government departments must submit a "No Objection Certificate" from their employer at the time of interview. Reservation and relaxation benefits are applicable only to Bihar State Domicile candidates. The Director of the Institute reserves the right to reject or accept any or all applications without assigning any reason. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.
